MAXIMAL AEROBIC SPEED

Tennis requires you to be on the court for hours on end, constantly moving and concentrating. You need good endurance. The structure of the program takes into consideration the work : rest ratio in a match. Training specifically for match play is important. After completing the programs, you will be recovering better between points and will have much better stamina.

REPEATED EFFORT 

Moving rapidly for 5-20sec then recovering and doing it again and again is what is needed to make it in tennis. Repeated movement effort is important to improve, as it dictates how you position yourself on the court and ultimately how you hit your shots. These repeated effort programs involve you carrying out repeated on-court agility drills that will have you feeling lighter and more physically resilient on the court.

Having fast and responsive movement is what every tennis player should be aiming for. Getting yourself set up for shots, getting to short balls and having the ability to feel like you can attack from anywhere on court is important. We have specifically chosen 14 yoga poses, specific for tennis. By following these specific tennis yoga programs you will feel you can get your body into better positions, recover quicker and find yourself stronger and more powerful at end range. MOBILITY & FLEXIBILITY

Having the ability to move your joints through a functional range of motion is important for long term physical success and reduced risk of injury. Joints are controlled by muscle movement and opening up the chain of movement (muscle length / joint range). These tennis specific movement based exercises will increase the joint range of motion and allow you to get into better positions on the court.

OFF FEET CONDITIONING

Off feet conditioning will allow you to unload the joints in your lower extremities whilst challenging your aerobic conditioning at the same time. Following these off feet conditioning programs consistently is important for injury prevention and aerobic conditioning.

STRENGTH ASSESSMENTS

Every athlete is different and has different strength capacities and injury histories. For this reason, we wanted to design programs catering to your individual needs. Before you commence your program you will perform three strength tests and two mobility tests. From this data, we then calculate using a special formula a program that is more suitable for your needs.

AGILITY & AEROBIC TESTING

Everyone has varying fitness levels and we like to take this into consideration when programming. Before you commence your program you will need to complete an agility test and an aerobic test. This is the best way to see where you are at (your starting point) and give you the opportunity to set some targets. You will also need the data to use for your programs, to determine your running speeds/distances.
